Descripción

This paper presents a rare coin type from the early 11th century German Empire, which is a detailed copy of a dirham from Caliph Hisham II of Córdoba (976-1009/1010-1013) and belongs to a group of coins from the time of emperor Henry II (1002-1024) with arabic and byzantine legends. It might be in direct connection with the slave trade of the High Middle Ages from the slavic regions in eastern Europe to the Iberian Peninsula and Constantinople.
