Descripción

The article shows part of the musical development of the Tule community, emphasizing the Kamu Purrui,a wind instrument representative of his community made out of tied reeds (Flauta de Pan) type, which inhabitsthe border between Panama and Colombia. The instrument is accompanied by a rattle called “Na”, which is usuallyplayed by the women in the community. The melody is formed through the alternate dialogue between two performerswith the female and male parts of the instrument, sometimes managing to combine up to fourteen soundsin two sets of the instrument, so that there is no one musician without the other in the interpretation. A route isproposed from the courseware through the interpretation of Kamu Purrui in Western contexts and local territories, seeking to emphasize the importance of recognition and retrieval of traditional music as a route to securing theColombian and Latin American identity.
