Women's problems in Pakistan
Women are the wealth and back bone of every society. And Pakistani women are very genius, efficient, sincere, honest and hard working. They are able to contribute this country in almost every field of life. They made us proud on different occasions because of their intelligence and abilities. And they play outstanding role in the development of the country and they are the source of inspiration for us. However they are facing too many problems here like systematic discrimination, domestic violence, limited access to education and property rights having no good facilities of health and nutrition and we are neglecting them in almost every field of life.
In this modern age in which the world is advancing and developing too fast, but here in our country more than half of the population is trying to live their lives with dignity continues. They are facing the problems of employment, access to education, health care and property rights. And no attention still is being paid to their problems, which is highly required. The crimes against women in Pakistan are growing at a rampant speed. Women, regardless of their class, caste, religion and educational status, are not safe. No serious effort have been taken to correct the weaknesses in dealing with the crimes against women further compound the situation and result is that the conviction rate remains extremely bad. The women of our country (Pakistan) are suffering only because of that people have no awareness about their rights, illiteracy and our customs. To overcome these problems of women we should empowered and authorized them to have control over their own lives. This will cause the modernization of the society and women will make better their socio-economic and political condition.
Women are the back bone of every nation and they can contribute in almost every field of the life. In politics we have the most notable politicians like Fatima Jinnah, Begum Ra'ana Liaquat Ali Khan, Benazir Bhutto, Fahmida Mirza, in sports we have the famous sports women like Ghalia Mohsin, Kiran Baloch, Kiran Khan, Rabia Qadar, Carla Khan, Rubab Raza, Shabana Akhtar, Sana Mir, and Naseem Hamid in other field like socio culture, religious movements, national growth and economic development we have influential personalities among women but however they are facing the problem of discrimination in particularly in rural areas of country. Different government and NGOs are working continuously to resolve this issue. Actually when people think that, some particular assignments should do by men but cannot be by women then gender discrimination comes into play. In Pakistani culture, there are different norms, which become hurdles for women to get basic rights like education, mobility and freedom. Arrange marriages are still common in Pakistan. Even women have no access to court for justice due to cultural impediment. There are different reasons of gender discrimination in Pakistan like religious tradition and misinterpretation, culture and customs. In Pakistan women discrimination is only because of men dominating society and women have no option to have the power of decision making to take steps for their rights accept some in cities
Domestic violence has become a major problem in Pakistani society. The term violence against women has been defined as the range of sexually, psychologically, and physically coercive acts used against women by current or former male intimate partners. According to a survey conducted in the Punjab Provence of this country that almost 35% of the women admitted in hospital were beaten by their husband. At least 5% were burnt and about 80% have experience spouse abuse, some murder cases also reported. Honor killing is another form of domestic violence against Pakistani women. This domestic violence facing the women of our country is only because of our illiteracy. We don't know about the basic rights of women.
Education is the basic right of every human being but unfortunately only 26% of the women are literate in Pakistan and the rest are still deprived of education. For the development of a society the role of educated women are very important. Education is the only source that a woman can overcome the problems of intergenerational cycle of oppression, abuse, and poverty of women. Educated women are more aware of their rights. A greater participation of educated women in the economy and political process would lead to a better world today as well as future generations
Traditionally some males don't like to send their daughters and sisters to schools or universities and especially to co-education institutes thus women have no opportunity for higher education, because co-education is not acceptable in this country for the majority of the people especially for the people of rural areas. So to improve the current situation of education for women in Pakistan we should spread the awareness amongst the people of this country.
In short Pakistani women are suffering serious problems like social political and economical they have the problems of health and nutrition and systematic discrimination. Government and non government organization have taken several steps to reduce women problem. For the better improvement of the society the role of educated and healthy women are very important.
