VALORIZACIÓN DE LOS POBLADOS FORTIFICADOS DE LA EDAD DEL HIERRO (NOROESTE DE LA PENÍNSULA IBÉRICA) Y EL TURISMO ARQUEOLÓGICO

Some considerations about concepts, legislation and history of the value assessment of archaeological heritage of the hill forts from the castreña culture of the Iron Age, located in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula (north of Portugal and Galicia) are presented. Some ideas and reflexions, regarding the aspects considered relevant at the time of elaborating valorization projects for this kind of heritage are included, with the aim of improve its sustainability and capacity of being of interest for both general public and cultural or archaeological tourist.Finally, in an attempt to bring its history to our days, the results obtained in the rehabilitation projects for the hill forts of the Iron Age that are located in the upper basin of the Coura River (Alto Miño, Portugal) are briefly mentioned.
