Descripción

Austrian economic theory is an useful tool for historians in the making of economic history. An Austrian insight of historical phenomena can correct certain analysis based on fallacies that, for example, put unnecessary emphasis in the importance of the state, regardless of the role of the entrepreneur, who's barely studied by historians, preferring a collectivist view on social changes given by the main schools of thought, such as: Marxist historical materialism, historicism and positivism. We try to present an approach based on the Austrian economic theory because, precisely, this school of thought acknowledges the importance of a realistic «anthropology of people» in its basic axioms. We also promote the idea that, epistemologically, the so called search of "objective history" by historians is not mutually exclusive from a history based on the Austrian economic theory.
