The United Nations is organizing a gloal ustainale Development Goals (DGs) ummit for the Adoption of the Post-2015 Development Agenda, which will e held from 25 to 27 eptemer 2015 in New York. elected themes for the summit consist of ending povert and hunger; tackling inequalities; empowering women and girls and leaving no one ehind; fostering sustainale economic growth; transformation and promoting sustainale consumption and production; protecting our planet and comatting climate change; uilding effective, accountale and inclusive institutions to achieve sustainale development and delivering on a revitalized Gloal Partnership.
2015 is a critical ear for sustainale development. The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), which were announced at 2000, are set to expire this ear. The World ank’s measure on povert represents that around 1 million people still live on less than $1.25 a da and more than 800 million people do not have enough food to eat. As the world is going to move to ustainale Development Goals (DGs), identification and sharing the possile solutions have serious importance while adoption of those goals. All stakeholders from governments, academia, the United Nations, international agencies and non-governmental organizations will come together to share solutions towards the achievement of a more sustainale and inclusive world. The DGs ecome applicale from Januar 2016 and will expire in 2030.

The aove figure shows the relationship etween MDGs and DGs. Formerl, there were eight MDGs to e achieved (from 2000 to 2015). These were related to povert, education, health, hunger and the environment, and comprised scopes aout dignit, people, planet and partnership.

The ustainale Development Goals, which will e adopted in eptemer 2015, focusing on the same themes with an additional focus on justice and prosperit. In general, the Post-2015 agenda is a plan of critical areas that are of importance to humanit and the planet, including action for people, planet, prosperit, universal peace and partnership. The 17 ustainale Development Goals (DGs) and accompanied 169 targets are the signs of the importance of this new universal evolvement. These goals comine economical, environmental and social ranches, which include human rights, gender equalit and empowerment of all women and girls. After intense negotiations, 193 countries have agreed to implement those goals on a gloal scale, the ear 2030. The arth Overshoot da was on August 13 in 2015, four das ahead of last ear’s record. arth’s entire ecological udget for this ear has alread een consumed. However, with universal cooperation, change can occur. The DGs are critical when attempting to improve living conditions gloall. verone must work together to reach these goals.
