UN NUEVO EXPOLIO DE NUESTRO PATRIMONIO HISTÓRICO: EL ARCHIVO PARROQUIAL

ACTAS XIV JORNADA DE HISTORIA DE FUENTE DE CANTOS, 2014RESUMENEn septiembre de 2013 fueron trasladados al Archivo Diocesano de Badajoz los fondos del Archivo Parroquial de Fuente de Cantos que tenían más de cien años de antigüedad, con lo que se ha perdido la serie histórica documental más completa y relevante de una población que, una vez más, se ve despojada de una parte importante de su patrimonio histórico. El suceso forma parte del plan de concentración de los archivos parroquiales de la diócesis, una acción ejecutada sin contar con el consenso necesario, y que por tanto ha producido un malestar justificado entre los investigadores y, en general, entre los amantes de la Historia, más aún en unos tiempos en los que estas actuaciones carecen de sentido ante las ventajas de la digitalización. Con este trabajo queremos dejar constancia de este hecho y recopilar los artículos, manifiestos y materiales expositivos en los que hemos tratado de alertar, por desgracia sin éxito, sobre los daños causados en nuestro patrimonio y en nuestra propia estima como ciudadanos y también como parroquianos.ABSTRACTIn September 2013, Fuente de Cantos parish church Historical Archive’s documents dating of more than one hundred years old were moved to the Diocesan Archive of Badajoz. This has resulted in the loss of the most complete and relevant historical series of documents of a town that, once again, is stripped of an important part of its historic heritage. The happening is part of the plan of compilation of the diocese’s parish church archives. This action was carried out without counting on the consensus that is needed and, therefore, it produced unease among researchers and, in general, among History enthusiasts. Moreover, these actions do not make sense, as we have the advantage of digitalization nowadays. In this article, we include the writings and other materials that we used with the intention of alerting the population of the damages caused to our historic heritage.
