TRES PROJECTES D’INVESTIGACIÓ ARQUEOLÒGICA AL SERVEI DE LA CIUTADANIA

The work carried out since 2010 by Tarragona City Council,the Catalan Institute of Classical Archaeology (ICAC) and theArchbishopric of Tarragona has facilitated the production of threedifferent projects. These projects all aim to increase and spreadscientific knowledge and make it easily available to local citizens, aswell as to all others who are interested. The three projects undertakenwere: ‘In search of the Temple of Augustus: excavations in the centralnave of Tarragona Cathedral’; ‘Amphiteatrum, memoria martyrumet ecclesiae. A Project for the socialisation of the amphitheatre ofTarragona: from archaeology to the history of religions’; and finally‘The archaeological study of the apse of the Early Christian basilica ofSaint Fructuosus in Tarragona’. The main novelty of these projects is thesimultaneous preparation of different presentation formats included inthe same scientific-educational project, which are presented togetherto society. These projects consist of historical reconstructions andthe production of audiovisual materials, as well as permanent andtemporary exhibitions that show their results. They also consist ofeducational publications that alternate with lectures and visits
