Lustful life of Lucrezia Borgia has inspired great artists and writers from different times. Many authors delineated his biography, more or less benevolent, highlighting its extreme beauty, her exquisite dress, her charming life and good education. But not only historiography and romantic novel acclaimed or denigrated this fabulous woman, also pictorial art would take her as a model.By analysing and interpreting different types of clothing with which he portrayed Lucrezia in Renaissance paintings (Pinturicchio, the Veneto, Dosso Dossi, etc.): the colour of their clothes and ornaments, hairstyles, and external symbols surrounding in certain pictorial representations, we performed a study on the personification of this temperamental woman. A young Duchess of Ferrara interpreted according to the canons of his time. Requirements determined by usual social norms and codes in the ecclesiastical and secular princely courts, of a changing Italy, halfway between the fifteenth and the sixteenth centuries.
