This paper aims to examine the role played bytravelling cinemas in the urban landscape ofSpanish cities during the arrival of the newand eye-catching decorative motifs of the ArtNouveau style. Plans, postcards and ancientphotographs show the elements thateffectively served as disguises in order to setapart these exhibition venues from thefairground booths that had shown films inearlier days.
