Textos de la evangelización americana: los complementos pastorales del III Concilio de Lima (1582-1583)

One of the practical consequences of the Third Provincial Concilium in Lima was the printing of a serial of trilingual pastoral complements (Spanish-Quechua-Aymara), in between 1584 and 1585, in order to achieve the Christianization in the vernacular language of the Archdiocese. In the present paper, we stand for the study of these written works like linguistic text products whose explanation can be found in their own context according to the historical moment in which they were produced. Thus, we delimit a concept of context for texts written in the past describing the main conditions of the procedure of the Concilium due to the fact that they are crucial in the creation pastoral complements. These are mainly described in their own configuration like sets formed by independent parts (but added in the piece of writing) whose interest for linguistics lies in its own possibilities of enun-ciation and in its contribution to the kind of typology produced by the Christian Missions in America.
