Teresa de Ávila y la espiritualidad poética del 36

The Work of Teresa de Ávila not only did cause a revolutionin the field of the Catholic spirituality of its time, but it also provoked a new kind of poetic spirituality, that is to say, an unprecedented way to deal literally the relationships between human being and divinity. This paper tries to show that teresian poetic spirituality is an inexcusable model for Spanish poets of the so called Generación de 1936. This influence, which takes the shape of intertextuality and theoretical guide at the same time, is specially clear in Juan and Leopoldo Panero brothers, whose case will be use as a paradigmatic example.
