Descripción

The paper aims to investigate the definition of an exemplary citizen of the Greek polis, using the concept of “instituted subjectivity”. This notion refers to the dominant patterns that establish an idea of the desirable man based on the exclusion and, above all, the expulsion of beings that, although biologically human, are considered socially inferior and placed outside humanity. All these heterogeneous beings (plebeians, women, slaves, servants, etc.) are subjected, in practice and in theory, to various processes of desubjectivation, involving the denial of the human condition, namely dehumanization.
