Descripción

The archaeological site of Puig Ciutat is located near the village of Oristà (central Catalonia). The poster presents the methodological strategy used to explore and plan the investigation of the site. The combination of new non-destructive survey techonologies and a selective archaeological approach to the site, allwoed enhancing the effectivity of investigations, revealing an exceptional site. The finding of large burned surfaces, which have been identified by geophysical surveys, a significant amount of weapons and others evidences indicate us a violent end of the settlement. The tableware imports and amphorae allow to date it between the 65-35 BC. Thus, we would have to place the violent end of the settlement during the civil war between Julius Caesar and Pompey.
