PROPIEDADES MECÁNICAS Y ANÁLISIS FRACTOGRÁFICO DE COMPONENTES AlSiMg CONFORMADOS EN ESTADO SEMISÓLIDO

The study compares the mechanical and fracture behaviour of several AlSiMg automotive components in as-casted state and after T5 and T6 heat treatments. The components were manufactured using different semi- solid technologies: Thixocasting (TC), New Rheocasting (NRC) and Sub Liquidus Casting (SLC). The results layout the possibilities of these technologies as an alternative to cast-ironed components.
