Descripción

The research focuses on political participation processes of indigenous peoples that claim their rights to national society and inside their communities. I describe how in the field of the Land Survey Program for Indigenous Communities, guaraní women of the Yariguarenda community ‘produce’ a geographical knowledge over space that appears tied in a collection of past, present and future stories that emphasize its evolution and dynamism. I also explore the modalities in which natural resources exploitation took place and as a consequence an accumulation that can be understood as an “accumulation by dispossession”. The reflection about processes of dispossession and the production of geographical knowledge are stimulating a wide indigenous resistance and are recovered by local social actors to define and give sense to their struggle in defense of  their territory, creating new ways of action and indigenous political struggle.
