Descripción

Ethanol production using alternative raw materials has great potential to generate value-added products, stimulating the socioeconomic development. However, the competitiveness of these processes depends on the proper handling of wastewater. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of water reduction on ethanol and stillage production in a micro-ethanol plant and to evaluate the addition of vinasse in sheep diet. It was used a micro ethanol plant with capacity of producing 20 liters / h with 6 fiber pots (1000 l). Cassava used was a hybrid CM 7951-5 (88% DM and 29.5% starch). Measured Treatments were: T1: 800 liters of water + 150 kg of cassava flour, T2: 700 liters of water + 150 kg flour cassava and T3: 500 l of water + 150 kg of cassava flour. Fermentation lasted 72 h, being studied, the ethanol yield (l / t) and the ratio of stillage / ethanol (l / l). The decrease of 37.5% in the amount of water used (800 vs 500 l) increased 33% in ethanol yield (268.8 vs. 357.5 l /...
