Por una repolitizacion de los derechos humanos Reflexiones en torno al articulo 29.1 (2016)

This contribution revisits the importance of article 29.1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights for two reasons: first, because individuals have a duty to the community, which this author holds as essential in order for their rights to be maintained; and secondly, because the achievement of this task promotes a critical and constructive questioning of other rights. The interpretation of article 29.1 offered here seeks to go beyond the human rights rhetoric, which can be empty, negative or may even become a strategy for depoliticisation.
