This paper aims to address a historiographical and conceptual review ofthe meaning of the Economic Societies in Cuba and more specifically in Havanasince the late eighteenth century to the mid-nineteenth century. From the analysisof some of the topics included in the notes, the main disseminator of its activities,a number of aspects that should be rethought as its designers aspirations, itsagricultural character listed in the service of “sacarocracia” or behavior beforethe monarchical crisis.
