Introduction: The Simulation Room has been defined as a pedagogical method to expand the real experiences with guided experiences that reproduce aspects of the real world in an interactive way. Objective: To describe a simulation experience in public health at the School of Medicine of the University of the Andes. Methodology:  Case study exploratory of the experience of Room Simulation Public Health as educational innovation strategy was developed in a course of  8 semester in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of the Andes during the first half of 2014. Were analysed three categories: 1. Enlistment of the Simulation Room  include  plan of analysis, information management, stakeholder mapping the territory or municipality, preparation of librettos, roles or guides, questions about a problem of public health. 2. Development of simulation scenarios in the public health situation room.3. Evaluation and dissemination of the experience of the simulation room through surveys of expectations and satisfaction in students.Conclusions: We observed improvement in learning skills in public health interventions by medical students to compare the before and after simulation room experience. The concepts and methodologies types of care are better understood, and ways of operating in the field of public health actions
