Role play: Persuade your friend to watch Heneral Luna. Your friend never liked watching Tagalog films. [INSIDE THE CLASSROOM] Ken: Hi, Shanish. How's it going? Shanish: Hey, Ken. Where have you been? Ken: I just bought some food. Do you want a bite? Shanish: Mhmm, nah. No, thank you. Ken: Okay. Hey! What're you watching? Shanish: It's a movie. Ken: I'm surprised that you're not watching PewDiePie or Markiplier's videos. What's the title? Shanish: As always, I can't connect to our school's wifi. It's The Shawshank Redemption. This is one of those movies which I’ll watch anytime like Inception, The Dark Knight, Spider-Man with Tobey Maguire, alright. It's just so good! Ken: What is it about? Shanish: What? Well, this is not one of the type of movies you like, am I right? So, what's the point? Ken: Wow. What's that supposed to mean?

Shanish: It's a foreign movie and, especially, it's a classic one. Ken: So? Shanish: Well, I know that you dislike these kind of movies. Because you are so into Tagalog love movies or rubbish ones. I really don’t get people like you! Ken: Come on! Tell me what's it about? Shanish: If you want to know what it's about, stop watching rubbish and cliché Filipino movies then watch genius films like this one right here. Ken: Hey, not all Tagalog movies are crappy. Shanish: Tell me about it! Ken: No, really. Let's not generalize Tagalog movies, alright? Shanish: Whatever you say. Ken: There are a lot of good and decent Tagalog movies out there. They’re not pretty hard to find. Shanish: I already did. Ken: What movie is it then? Shanish: Uhh, Enteng Ng Ina Mo? Ken: Come on. You're kidding me, right? Shanish: No! Why should I watch Tagalog movies? No, thanks. I'm not going to waste my time watching cliché movies. Ken: Hmm. Well, I bet there's one movie that can make you change your mind.

Shanish: Hmm? Ken: You have to watch Heneral Luna. Shanish: The what? Ken: Heneral Luna. It's a new Filipino movie. Shanish: They made a movie about Antonio Luna? Ken: Yes. I have the trailer here on my phone. Let's watch the trailer together. Get ready to blow your mind! Shanish: This better be good, Ken. [AFTER WATCHING THE TRAILER ON KEN’S PHONE] Ken: So, what do you think? Shanish: I don't know what to say. I'm speechless. Ken: It's officially selected as the Philippines' Entry to the 2016 Oscars, by the way. Shanish: Oh, my God! Are you serious? Ken: Yes! I'm serious. Shanish: I can’t believe it! Ken: Are you going to watch it? Shanish: Yes! Oui! Definitely! [THE NEXT DAY] [Shanish called Ken]

Shanish: Hello, Ken. I just finished watching Heneral Luna with my sister. Ken: Well? Shanish: It was brilliant! I can't get over it. Just wow! Ken: See? What did I tell you? There are quality Filipino movies out there. Shanish: Thank you for convincing me, Ken. Unbelievable. It’s been a very long time since I’ve seen a Tagalog movie.
