O GÊNESIS EM QUADRINHOS: AIZEN, CARIELLO E CRUMB -UM BREVE COMPARATIVO. THE GENESIS IN COMICS: AIZEN, CARIELLO AND CRUMB-A BRIEF COMPARISON

ABSTRACT The objective of this article is to make a brief comparison of three versions of the Genesis, the first book fo the Bible, into comics, represented by the works " The Bible in Comics – Ancient Testament " published by the former Editora Brasil-America Limitada, owned by Adolfo Aizen, the " Action Bible " by the Brazilian artist Sergio Cariello and " The Book of Genesis " by the American cartoonist Robert Crumb. Our proposal is to analyse the philosophic and ideologic bias of each work, enhanced by stylistic solutions used in the transposition of the Holy Text into the verbal-visual language of comics, also comparing main similarities and diferences in all the three versions regarding their final purpose. Thereunto, we seek theoric tools in the cross-textual studies, in Semiotcs and in academic studies on comics. At the end, we hope to contribute for the discussion of the dialogic role played by the translation of the Holy Scripture into other languages, specifically the visual one.RESUMO O objetivo deste artigo é fazer um breve comparativo de três adaptações do Gênesis, primeiro livro da Bíblia, para os quadrinhos, representadas pelos trabalhos " A Bíblia em quadrinhos-Antigo Testamento " publicada pela extinta Editora Brasil-América Limitada, de Adolfo Aizen, a " Bíblia em Ação " do quadrinista brasileiro Sergio Cariello e " The Book of Genesis " do cartunista norte-americano Robert Crumb. A proposta é analisar o viés filosófico-ideológico de cada obra, evidenciado pelas soluções estilísticas usadas na transposição do texto sagrado para a linguagem verbo-visual dos quadrinhos, comparando também as principais similaridades e diferenças nas três versões no tocante ao seu uso final. Para tanto buscamos ferramental nos estudos intertextuais, na semiótica e em textos acadêmicos sobre quadrinhos. Ao final, esperamos ter contribuído para a discussão do papel dialógico da tradução do texto sagrado para outras linguagens, especificamente a visual.
