MODELS OF AUTHORIZATION NUMBERS ISSUED FOR APROVED EXPORTERS IN THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY

Austria: Two-letter Iso Alpha country code (AT) / three-digit code identifying the Customs Office / three-digit authorization number; Example: AT/100/015 (1) Belgium: Two-letter Iso Alpha country code (be) followed by the authorization number (sequential, al national level); Example: BE 74 (2) Cyprus: Two-letter Iso Alpha country code (CY) / three-letter code the regional Customs House / three-digit authorization number; Example: CY/NIC/123 Czech Republic: Two-letter Iso Alpha country code (CZ) / two-digit code identifying the Customs Directorate / four-digit authorization number / two-digit code identifying the year of approval; Example: CZ/02/0001/04 (3) Denmark: Two-letter Iso Alpha country code (DK) / two-digit code identifying the authorizing Customs Office / two-digit code identifying the year of approval / three-digit number (237, 230, 231, 232, 234, 235, or 239) / five-digit authorization number (sequential); Example: DK/51/04/237/00638 (4) Estonia: Two-letter Iso Alpha country code (EE) followed by a three-digit authorization number (sequential) / four-digit code identifying the year of approval; Example: EE 001/2004 (1)

It should be noted that authorization numbers granted pursuant to a former numbering system continue to be used. These old authorization numbers do not contain the two-letter I so Alpha country code (AT); Example: 100/015

Greece: Two-letter Iso Alpha country code (GR) / two-digit code identifying the authorizing Customs Directorate (from 1 to 10) / four-digit authorization number / four-digit code identifying the year of approval; Example: GR/01/1234/2004

Hungary: Two-letter Iso Alpha country code (HU) / five-digit code identifying the Customs Office / the digit cero (“0”) followed by the letter “E” or “N” / one-digit identifying the year of approval / ninedigit authorization number(sequential); Example: HU/11000/0E/4/000000128 (6) Ireland: Two-letter Iso Alpha country code (IE) / authorization number (sequential) / two-digit code identifying the year of approval; Example: IE/01/99 Italy: Two-letter Iso Alpha country code (IT) / three-digit authorization number (sequential) / twoletters identifying the authorizing Customs Directorate / two-digit code identifying the year of approval; Example: IT/001/RM/04 (7)

Latvia: Two-letter Iso Alpha country code (LV) / one, two or three-digit authorization number(sequential) / four-digit code identifying the year of approval; Example: LV/1/2004 or LV/49/2004 (8) Lithuania: Two-letter Iso Alpha country code (LT) / three-digit (alphanumerical code) identifying the Customs Office / three-digit authorization number; Example: LT/VM0/012 (5)

It should be noted that authorization numbers granted pursuant to a former numbering system continue to be used. These old authorization numbers do not contain the two-letter I so Alpha country code (FI); Example: 505/110

It should be noted that authorization number granted pursuant to another numbering system may be used: The letter “H” identifying Hungary – letters “EE” followed by a three-digit application number / three-digit authorization number – four-digit code Identifying the year of approval followed by two letter code identifying the Regional Customs Directorate, either “DA”; “DD”; “ÉA”; “ÉM”; “KD”; “KM”; or “NYD” (this last element only for authorizations issued after June, 2000); Example: H-EE.012/009-2003 DA
