Matices populistas: La política turística de Getúlio Vargas (1937-1954) y de Juan Domingo Perón (1946-1952), por GABRIEL COMPARATO

Frente a la polisemia que caracteriza al concepto de populismo, en tanto categoría de estudio, el presente tra-bajo intenta aproximarse al papel que tuvo la actividad turística para dos de los gobiernos considerados clásicos, la prime-ra presidencia de Perón en Argentina y la de Getúlio Vargas en Brasil a partir del Estado Novo. En este marco, el problema que guiará el análisis estará centrada en indagar si existe un común denominador turístico, es decir, políticas turísticas comunes y afines a estos gobiernos, y con ello precisar aún más el marco ideológico en el cual se inserta la actividad. Facing the polysemy which characterizes the concept of populism, as a category of study, this paper attempts to approach the role that tourism had for two of the government considered as classics, the first presidency of Peron in Argentina and the government of Getúlio Vargas in Brazil from the Estado Novo. In this framework, the problem that will guide the analysis will focus in if there is a touristic common denominator, namely a common and related tourism policies for these governments, and thereby refine the ideological framework in which the activity is inserted.
