Los blocos afro* en Bahía. Máquinas de re-creación del territorio negro

his paper concerns the experience of the Blocos Afro in Salvador de Bahia-Brazil, from an approach that  helps  to  observe  their  activities  in  respect  of  their  power  as  agents  in  the  production  of  social  reality. In this article, I will present the discursive and  practical  elements  of  Afrobahian  Blocos  Ile  Aiye  and  Malê  Debalê  offering  a  production  in  various fields such as: art, education and politics, consolidating a social device for the re-settlement of African-descendants’ territories, and producing a re-newed Africanity within the South American urban contexts. I will use the terms “territory” and “pro-duction” in the schizoanalytic sense of Guattari and Deleuze (2010) to be taken up by Rolnik (2006) and Cocco (2012). This implies showing Blocos Afro as a desiring machine and looking at their qualities as a social agency and as flows in various spheres of enunciation: as a geographical territory, as political space, and cultural field.
