LOCAL RESOURCES AND GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS: ANDALUSIAN VIRGIN OLIVE OIL EXPORTS

Andalusia accounts for more than 60% of the Spanish area devoted to production of mill olive oil. In an international context of progressive deregulation, the chances of the specialized areas in olive oil production depend largely on how it is adapting to the conditions prevailing in the world market. This paper analyzes the recent evolution of Andalusian exports of olive oil, explaining the internalization strategies followed by companies.
