Descripción

Two new genera and four new species of nymphalid butterflies are described from diverse localities of the Pantepui (Venezuela, Guyana): Marpesia pantepuiana Costa, Attal & Viloria, n. sp. (Cyrestinae), Huberonympha Viloria & Costa, n. gen., Huberonympha neildi Viloria, Costa, Fratello & Nakahara, n. sp., Stevenaria Viloria, Costa, Neild & Nakahara, n. gen., Stevenaria yutajensis Viloria & Costa, n. sp. and S. nakaharai Viloria, Costa, Fratello & Neild, n. sp. (Satyrinae). For each taxon, information is provided regarding distribution, endemism, habitat and ethology. A new combination is proposed, Stevenaria divergens (Butler, 1867), n. comb., and the genus Magneuptychia Forster, 1964, is redefined (Satyrinae) to include now only three species: M. libye (Linnaeus, 1767), M. libyoidea (Butler, 1866) and M. lethra (Möschler, 1883). A neotype for Papilio libye Linnaeus, 1767, and a lectotype forEuptychia libyoidea Butler, 1866, are designated. A new synonymy is proposed: Euptychia newtoni Hall, 1939, n. syn. for Euptychia lethra Möschler, 1883.
