This Final Master Work is a proposition for a PhD. thesis project. The general goal of this project is to examine the public broadcasting service’s (PBS) audiences in European Union through a case study of CCMA and BBC arround three axis: the actual state, the behaviour and the future challenges. The object of study will cover all the comunicative process, by means off the media, the professionals, the content and the audience. All of this analyzed by the perspective of the influence of new media in the production and consumption. For achieve the general goal we propose a mix methodology with quantitative techniques, like the experimental survey; qualitatives techniques, like the documental analysis, the in-deph interview, the observation and the focus groups; and mix techniques, like the Delphi and the content analysis. The results obtained during the PhD. thesis have a prospective aim with the purpose of strategies to maintain and improve the PBS’s audiences in medium and long term.
