Las relaciones hispanovenezolanas durante el Chavismo (1998-2011)

Resumen: El tablero político latinoamericano sufrió una sacudida en los últimos años de la década de los noventa. El huracán Hugo Chávez llegó al poder en Venezuela y generó una serie de cambios en la estructura interna de su país, pero también de toda la región y de las relacio-nes de Latinoamérica con el resto del mundo. En ese grupo de países que poseen una especial relación con el país andino y con la región se encuentra el Reino de España, que era un país con unos vínculos muy estrechos con Venezuela debido motivos históricos, culturales y huma-nos. Desde España se observó con bastante cautela los cambios que se produjeron en el Caribe y que, posteriormente, generarían ten-siones entre ambos países.Abstract: The Latin American political scene suffered a shake during the last years of the nineties. "Hurricane" Hugo Chavez came to power in Venezuela and generated a series of changes in the internal structure of his country, but also in the whole region and in the relations of Latin America with the rest of the world. In this group of countries that have special rela-tionship with the Andean country and the re-gion is the Kingdom of Spain that was a country with a very close relationship to Venezuela due to historical, cultural and humane reasons. From Spain, the changes in the Caribbean, which subsequently would generate tensions between both countries, were being cautiosly observed.
