Las ilustraciones de la danesa Gerda Wegener (1884-1940) en el semanario francés La Baionnette. Una satírica visión femenina de la Primera Guerra Mundial

El objetivo del presente trabajo es difundir y analizar las ilustraciones que la danesa Gerda Wegener (1885-1940) realizó para el semanario satírico La Baionnette durante el conflicto bélico de la Primera Guerra Mundial. Se trata de una de las aportaciones de esta polifacética y escasamente conocida artista que, además, fue retratista y colaboradora de otras muchas revistas, contribuyendo igualmente con sus obras en libros y anuncios publicitarios. Temas variados y polémicos, como imágenes picantes o escenas amorosas lésbicas totalmente explícitas, también formaron parte de sus creaciones. Todo esto la convirtió en una artista pionera que supo adelantarse a su época pero que, hasta el momento, era célebre, sobre todo, por ser la esposa del primer transexual de la historia. Nuestro objetivo es que sean sus obras las que le den el reconocimiento que se merece. The goal of this article is to publicize and to analyze the illustrations that the Danish artist Gerda Wegener (1885-1940) did for the satirical weekly paper La Baionnette during the First World War. This is one of the works by a multitalented and scarcely known artist who was also a portrait painter and a contributor to many other magazines, besides, she contributed to books and advertisements with her paintings. Polemical and varied subjects, like racy pictures and clear lesbian romantic scenes, were also part of her oeuvre. In this way, she became a forward thinking painter who knew how to be ahead of her time but, despite this, she is still only recognized for being the wife of the first transsexual in history. Our objective is that she gets to be known for what she deserves to be.
