La Vigencia de la Zarzuela como Género de Creación Contemporánea

Resumen: La zarzuela se ha convertido en un género de repertorio tras sesenta años de abandono creativo. Este artículo propone el estudio de la implantación actual de la zarzuela, como tal género de repertorio, el análisis de la viabilidad de nueva composición dentro del vigente contexto artístico, económico  y sociocultural, y la evaluación de cómo esa zarzuela contemporánea podría ser construida, desde unas bases que incluyen la adaptabilidad y flexibilidad de los formatos, su viabilidad y sostenibilidad económica, la accesibilidad y pertinencia cultural de su estética y su permeabilidad al uso de nuevas tecnologías.Abstract: Zarzuela, as the idiomatic form of Spanish lyric theatre, has become a repertoire genre after sixty years of creative oblivion. This article proposes the study of the current implantation of the genre, as a repertoire, the analysis of the viability of new composition within the current artistic, economic and sociocultural contexts, and the evaluation of how that eventual contemporary zarzuela could be constructed. This study proposes action lines that include the adaptability and flexibility of the format, their viability and economic sustainability, and the accessibility and cultural pertinence of its aesthetics, supported by the permeability of the new format to applied technologies.
