La Sustentabilidad De Las Pesquerías: Fundamentos Teóricos y Análisis Dentro Del Marco De La Política Pesquera Comunitaria

The environmental degradation of the planet is one of the most important challenges that human being has to confront today. There are no doubts about the not-sustainability of an economic model of growth created without considering the relationship between economy and environment. Sustainable development is a long term priority for both, the policy makers and the whole society, being necessary a clear definition of the aims to accomplish. There are different proposals related to the sustainable management for fishing activities (pre- cautionary approach, ecosystem approach to fisheries…), analyzing in this paper their theoreti- cal bases, evolution and adoption within the Common Fisheries Policy.
