La representación de Grecia en el diario \'Bild\' durante los años centrales de la crisis económica, 2008-2012

This paper addresses the coverage of the German tabloid Bild about Greece during the toughest years of the euro area crisis. Which message about the crisis has Bild provided to its readers? How is represented the complexity of the crisis in the vocabulary of a tabloid? Has Bild led a propaganda campaign against Greece? This article attempts to provide answers to these questions through discourse analysis. The result confirms that Bild, with a discourse riddled with stereotypes, exaggerations and half-truths, presents Germany as a hardworking, honest and responsible country, as opposed to squandering, corruption and ruin in Greece.
