The Pyramid of Quetzalcoatl was aligned to May 3 because Teotihuacan governors and priests had the same astronomical and meteorological information as the 'Olmec' (Mixe-Zoque) priests had held: that the completion of 13 Bak'tun would occur on May 3, 2013, and would give good omens to their civilization.
