La literatura posmoderna española: entre el fin de la dictadura y el auge de los mass media

In this article we discuss the assimilation of postmodern practices into Spanishculture, specifically in the field of literature. Spain remained internationallyisolated during the first phase of the Franco dictatorship, which preventednew cultural movements arising in Europe and America from becomingestablished in Spain. It was not until the economic boom of the 60s that themass media was imposed as a cultural regulator, commercializing all artisticproduction and spawning new trends in cultural consumption. The new massmedia served as a cultural bridge between Spain and the rest of the world,enabling the Spanish population to become part of a new globalized world.
