Descripción

In the artistic framework that swings between the so called death of the subject and the rawexhibition of selfhood, Jorge Riechmann’s late poetics seem to insist on plotting against two risks ofcontemporary poetry: a) a self-sufficient speaker, in the middle of an overwhelming literary market fullof somehow pleasant identity narratives. b) a heroic speaker, who believes himself absolutely necessaryand able to replace others in order to transcend. Thus, Riechmann practises an objectivation of the lyricvoice instead of the egotistical trap. In doing so, he does not sacrifice singularity but he also guaranteesantidogmatic schemes. That voice, which outlines a decentred will, looks for a singularity insidea community, considering the addition of not opposing features a hard balance between the illusionsof the autonomous vs. the heteronomous. On leaving self-identity into collective identity, Riechmannlinks his poems to current Philosophy reflections and Art experiments, that rethink the concept of acommunity where heterogeneity and controversy are not avoided. This new approach stands against thedehumanisation of meeting places in a wider ground-breaking and political sense. In conclusion, thisarticle tends to map the resetting of poetic voice in Riechmann’s work within a context of antagonisticaesthetics, for which the rigid dichotomy between individuality/commonality leads now to overlappingidentities, opening new paths for poetry.
