La experiencia de la modernidad como una experiencia barroca

Este artículo propone que la experiencia de la modernidad es una experiencia barroca, lo que implica que la relación entre los seres humanos y el mundo está presidida por etapas agudas de inestabilidad. De ahí que en primer lugar se caracterice la experiencia del siglo XVII, poniéndola en relación con los cambios acontecidos en el “cosmos intelectual” como resultado de la revolución científica, y que se resumen en la afirmación de un concepto de tiempo y espacio como homogéneos e infinitos. En segundo lugar, se vincula esta etapacon otros momentos históricos para concluir que expresan una misma experiencia. *This article proposes that the experience of modernity is a baroque experience, which implies that the relationshipbetween human beings and the world is presided over by stages of acute instability. Hence, in the first place, it characterizes the experience of the 17th century, putting it in relation to the events that ocurred in the “intellectual cosmos” as a result of the scientific revolution, and that are summed up in the affirmation of a concept of time and space as homogeneous and infinite.
