La desnaturalización de los espacios: lacus y stagnum en su acepción de infraestructuras hidráulicas

The terms lacus and stagnum refer as natural spaces relative to water environment, inparticular to wetlands. These concepts, which original and most widespread meaninghas a geographic character, is extended to express artificial elements in a process ofdenaturation. We proceed to analyse these terms in the written and epigraphical latinsources to trace the meanings and to be able to define them in its conception as artificialforms that in its origin arise to the imitation of nature.
