The construction of subjectivity and the configuration of the poetic persona are keys of the nineteenth century poetry. Nevertheless, Spanish poetry will encounter over strong religious and political obstacles for the free expression of subjectivity. In the first years of century XIX, two authors who are not basically poets can represent the opposed tendencies that will fight in the later period: Blanco White, exile and heterodox, and Böhl de Faber, German émigré and converse to conservative ideas.
