This paper describes a social-affective animated agent that is able to interact with students in a learning environment for algorithms. The agent monitors the interaction with the user and employs the information collected to make personalized recommendations of contents. In addition, the agent is capable of identifying other students that may act as tutors in certain topics, and suggests the interaction between them and the students that are having difficulties in their studies. Through these recommendations, the agent motivates group formation and promotes collaborative learning.
