Cholesteatoma is a cystic lesion which occured accumulation of keratinizedmultilayer squamouse pithelium in the middle ear and orther pneumatized regionsof the temporal bone. Cholesteatoma of the petrous bone extending into theintracranial region is an unusual occurrence. A 71-year-old male presented withipsilateral otorrhoea and facial paralysis. After the diagnosis of cholesteatoma,the meningitis and brainstem infarction caused by lateral sinus trombosis weredeveloped into the one year period. The patient’s clinical and neuroradiologicalfindings are discussed on the light of literature.
