[INDONESIA AND COMMUNISM] mejlaniecp-02321544

Indonesia and Communism by. Maylanie Citra What a difference from Indonesia before 1965 and thereafter? I ask this question because there is prohibition of communism in Indonesia. Need to be evaluated that the freedom of expression in Indonesia is guaranteed in the Constitution of 1945, the stigma like this would violate the Constitution that must be obeyed by all parties without exception. If communism was banned in Indonesia, whether Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution adopted by Indonesia before 1965 is different from the Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution after 1965? Nowadays, If the Indonesian peoples asked : why you hate communism, most likely would not be able to answer that question, except to say the things we've cliche often heard during the course of the New Order regime, especially in upgrading P4, that communism is the great enemy of religion. Therefore, the Indonesian people against communism without understanding the true ideology of communism. In order for the Indonesian people to understand the truth, Indonesia needs to evaluate communism. Because Communism is not a frightening creature as if an evil ideology. I think, students, at least started high school need to know about communism, and is not meant for later embraced it, but to reject it consciously, that proves how these ideologies function in practice. In my opinion, the Indonesian people familiar with the teachings of communism would strengthen the position of Pancasila as the state philosophy - I believe this. The main capital for the opposition of communism is the people's welfare. Why? As seen from the history and teachings of the Communist ideology was indeed very attractive to the poor commoners. It not only looks and feels clear teachings of propaganda, but also because of concrete actions to meet their material needs, especially meet the people's welfare such as free education, health guaranteed countries, decent work etc. Nowadays, we are live in era of globalization approach. Indonesian government have to evaluating Tap MPRS No. XXV / MPRS / 1966 on the prohibition of the PKI and the ideology of Marxism-Leninism because this country has to start thinking to respect human rights, and as a great nation which embracing Pancasila, Indonesia should respect all kinds of distinctions. Including the distinction in political ideology.
