Implementación de un SIG en la Cueva de la Cocina (Dos Aguas, Valencia)(cocina_girona.pptx)

In summer 2015 an archaeological excavation at the well-known site of Cueva Cocina (Dos Aguas, Valencia) was performed. The use of GIS technology was fully incorporated at daily tasks, as for some years our team has been doing. An  brief summary of the computer aid stratigraphic reconstruction of one of the pit tests is offered in this communication. Most of the process will be detailed, from the protocol carried out at the site until the compute processing of the collected information. We have used different GIS systems (gvSIG,  OpenJUMP, QGIS)  in order to provide a comparative view of those system when applied to georeferencing and stratigraphic virtualization. The paper is therefore twofold: as a use case and as a comparative of different FOSS4G systems available focusing in their pros and cons for its application in archeology.
