HISTORIA, EVOLUCIÓN, SEMIÓTICA. EL ORDEN TERNARIO DE VICO Y PEIRCE

En este artículo intentaremos acercar a Vico a la empresa semiótica de Charles S. Peirce, indagando en la configura-ción de un pragmatismo que tome en cuenta la información histórica para la construcción de la mente humana. En la primera parte se investigarán las raíces retóricas y poéticas de las categorías semióticas; en la segunda, se explorará la relación entre Vico y Peirce, por un lado, y las investigacio-nes contemporáneas sobre el desarrollo del lenguaje por otro; finalmente, en la tercera parte se volverá a la semióti-ca para intentar una interpretación de la progresión retórica viquiana, de la mímesis a través de los signos hasta las len-guas articuladas, coherente con el pragmatismo, tanto desde el punto de vista funcional como desde el punto de vista his-tórico, con el objetivo de alzar las barreras que mantienen, convencionalmente, a los dos autores en lados distintos del proyecto de la Ilustración. In this paper we will try to relate Vico to the semiotic work of Charles S. Peirce, by taking into account a pragmatism that considers historical information relevant for the construction of human mind. First, we investigate the rhetorical and poetical roots of semiotic categories; secondly, we explore the relationship between Vico and Peirce on one side, and the contemporary research about the development of language on the other; finally, we go back to semiotics to examine an interpretation of Viquian rhetorical progression, from mimesis through signs to articulated languages, both functionally and historically coherent with Peircean pragmatism, in order to pierce the barriers that conventionally keep both authors at different sides of the Illustration’'s project.
