Hallazgos monetarios en niveles de abandono de la Ínsula 30 de la ciudad romana de Emporiae (fines del siglo III)

RESUMEN Se analizan 244 monedas recuperadas en los estratos que documentan las últimas fases de ocupación y abandono de la Ínsula 30 de la ciudad romana de Emporiae. En la ínsula se diferencia un sector ocu-pado por las termas públicas y una zona de tabernae, cuya destrucción y abandono se sitúa mayoritariamente en el último cuarto del siglo III. La composición de este importante conjunto muestra las características de la masa monetaria usada por los emporitanos en la etapa final de la ciudad, mar-cada por una grave falta de renovación de numerario. ABSTRACT Coin findings at abandonment levels of Insula 30 in the roman city of Emporiae (end of 3 rd century) We analyze 244 coins unearthed in the strata that record the last stages of occupation and abandon-ment of Insula 30 in the Roman city of Emporiae. In this Insula we can distinguish between a sector occupied by the public baths and an area of tabernae, the destruction and abandonment of which is thought to date to the last quarter of the 3rd century. The composition of this important assemblage of coins reveals the nature of the coin mass used by the inhabitants of Emporiae in the city's final phases, which were marked by a serious deficiency in the replenishment of cash coinage.
