The recent appearance of a Romanepigraph found in 1840 in Marchamaloallows a new interpretation. So far thisinscription readings depended on the onemade in 1900 by F. Fita and based on theletters of his informants and itssubsequent reinterpretation. Thecomparison of both of them allows us tohighlight some aspects of the Jesuit’smethodology
