FLUTUAÇÃO POPULACIONAL DE Singhiella simplex (SINGH, 1931) (HEMIPTERA: ALEYRODIDAE) EM AMBIENTE URBANO DO MUNICÍPIO DO RIO DE JANEIRO

RESUMO O presente estudo objetivou conhecer a distribuição populacional do inseto urbano introduzido Singhiella simplex (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), analisar as variações da população amostrada e correlacioná-las com variáveis climáticas. O número amostral foi obtido a partir de coletas mensais de indivíduos atraídos por iluminação doméstica em bairro da Zona Norte do Rio de Janeiro, durante o período de um ano. As análises mostraram um período de maior ocorrência da espécie nos meses de março/abril e uma correlação significativa da população amostrada com a umidade relativa, pluviosidade e evaporação. ABSTRACT POPULACIONAL FLUCTUATION OF Singhiella simplex (SINGH, 1931) (HEMIPTERA: ALEYRODIDAE) IN URBAN ENVIRONMENT IN RIO DE JANEIRO MUNICIPALITY This study aimed to understand the population fluctuation of the introduced urban insect Singhiella simplex (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), analyze the variations of the sampled population, and correlate them with climatic variables. The sample size was obtained from monthly collections of individuals attracted to domestic lighting, in an urban neighborhood in the northern of Rio de Janeiro city during one year. The analyzes showed significant correlation of the sampled population with the relative humidity, precipitation and evaporation.
