EXPECTATIVAS FRENTE AL EVENTO AMERICA\'S CUP. UNA PERSPECTIVA DESDE EL COMERCIO Y LA RESTAURACIÓN

Resumen: En el presente trabajo se desarrolla un análisis sobre la literatura centrada en la medición de las expectativas y sobre el impacto de eventos especiales. Se realiza una aplicación empírica sobre el evento de la America's Cup celebrado en la ciudad de Valencia concretándolo en el sector comercio y el sector restauración como stakeholders que juegan un papel importante en la consecución de su éxito. En cuanto a la repercusión del evento para la ciudad de Valencia, los resultados muestran unas expectativas positivas relativas a la revitalización de la ciudad y al desarrollo turístico y como contrapunto unas creencias menos favorables acerca de la evolución del precio de propiedades inmobiliarias y de la consecuente especulación.Summary: This paper carries out an analysis on the literature focused on the measurement of expectations of special events impact and subsequently empirical evidences derived from an investigation aimed at establishing the nature of these variables faced with the America's Cup event among the retail trade sector and restaurant of the city of Valencia as stakeholders who play an important part on the achievement of the success are provided. Results show, as regards the repercussion of the event, some positive perceptions as for the city revitalization and the tourist development and as counterpoint some negative believes around the increase of the real estate prices and the consequent speculation.
