Innovación tecnológica: Implementación del cultivo de berenjena como alternativa en zonas con alta salinidad en el agua y suelo. Área de aplicación: Aplicación agrícola con enfoque al uso adecuado del suelo y agua con alta conductividad eléctrica. Abstract. In areas where soils are shallow, salinity problems, water shortages, are factors that have led to the abandonment of agricultural activities, such as the region of Tehuacán, Puebla. One solution to this problem is the implementation of cultivation techniques that do not require land use, such as hydroponics, although this technique is inefficient when there are problems of salinity in the water, so it is necessary to know the tolerance crop to determine the amount of fertilizer to add to the nutrient solution. So in this research project different fertilization they were evaluated in eggplants (Solanum melongena L.) in order to determine the salinity tolerance of the effect of the addition of chemical fertilizers in the nutrient solution. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized design, with three treatments with three replicates each were evaluated. The variables were evaluated; plant height, polar and equatorial fruit diameter, number of flowers and buds after each pruning. The results were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) using SAS V. 9 (SAS, 2002) program complemented with the Tukey test (p ≤ 0.05) to compare means. Based on the results it was determined that the cultivation of eggplant has the ability to tolerate high electrical conductivity in the water and therefore has the ability to produce the crop in areas where there are problems of salinity in the water and soil.
