Estado de la investigación educativa en Honduras, 1987-2014

This  article  aims  to  determine  the  role  of  educational  research  in  human development  in  Honduras.  In  turn  it  tries  to  describe  the  main  features  of  such investigations, through a mixed  methods  approach,  which captures the opinion of domain experts and runs a meta-analysis of several collected research papers. The main results indicate a lack of integration among key actors (society, private sector, NGOs, government and academia), also it reveals that despite the increase in  national  scientific  production,  there  is  still  a  large  international  lag.  Informants agree  on  the  role  of  research  to  support  decision-making,  however  it  is  debated  whether,  in  practice,  there  is  a  relationship  of  influence  between  knowledge  and action. It was found that the academy plays an important role in the production and socialization  of  scientific  knowledge,  in  addition  to  providing  research  training programs, funding, by matching requirements with national requirements.
